Back on February 17th, 2025, Petdine recalled several of its Zesty Paws soft chew supplements due to potential Salmonella contamination. The FDA never released a press release about it, but there is an enforcement report on their website.

Salmonella can harm both pets and people, which is why pet food companies proceed with caution during recalls like this. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your family's health.

What to Do with the Recalled Products

If you have any of the affected products, return the food to your place of purchase or dispose of it in a way that no humans, pets, or wildlife can access it. Thoroughly wash anything the supplements came into contact with, such as counters, bowls, and storage containers. Always wash your hands after handling these products.

Keep an eye out for unusual symptoms in the pets and people in your home. Humans might experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramping. Pets could experience lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. In extreme cases, more extreme illnesses could occur for people and pets, so contact medical professionals if you notice any symptoms.
